Michiru Shimada (島田 満, Shimada Michiru, May 19, 1959 – December 15, 2017) was a Japanese screenwriter from Tokyo.She was a member of the Writers Guild of Japan.

Shimada graduated from Department of Japanese Studies in Waseda University. In 1981, when she was in her third university year, she learned that Toei Animation would hire new recruits for the first time in 10 years, and she took the exam to become trainee director. Although she passed the exam with high marks, she was encouraged to write a script instead because the studio's policy at the time was not hiring women as directors. She wrote the script for the episode 42 of the TV anime Dr. Slump (Dr. Slump: Arale-chan), which was aired on February 10, 1982. After that, she participated in many popular plays and continued his career steadily and successfully.

On December 15, 2017, she passed away from a disease she had been suffering from since 2016. She was 58 years old.
